Give a little - Help a Lot
THIS place matters and we need your help.

Midwest Veterans Closet, Impacting Veterans Lives, Inc.
is a 501c3 charity (47-2126427).

As we all follow the impact of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), Midwest Veterans Closet wants you to know that health and well-being, yours and ours, is of utmost importance.  Like you, we’re keeping a close eye on the quickly changing landscape of how to prioritize what is best for ourselves, for you, and our community. This is a rapidly evolving situation, and information will be updated as needed at the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) website http://www.dph.illinois.gov/ and on the CDC website at cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html

Effective immediately, we are putting the following policies in place:
We are adhering to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control & Prevention’s (CDC) guidelines to thoroughly clean and disinfect surfaces. We will be disinfecting frequently used surfaces as much as possible while we are open. As an additional precaution, we have decided to temporarily discontinue the self-selection of groceries inside the Food and Nutrition Resource Center.

We are NOT accepting donations until further notice.

Hours change:  Until further notice, we will be open Fridays from 10 a.m. to 12 noon for groceries only while supplies last and weather permitting.

Groceries:  Until further notice, groceries will be available outside of our building. Please bring your own bags, boxes, or containers as our supplies will be limited. Remember, This is a rapidly evolving situation.

We are committed to making sure Midwest Veterans Closet remains a place you can rely on. For our most up to date information check our Facebook page, Midwest Veterans Closet, or check back here.
                                       ***

Always with integrity, we collaborate with people like you to impact the lives of families of heroes who serve(d) America.

We serve them with weather appropriate clothing, household items, furniture, FOOD, and job and housing leads when available, but always HOPE and DIGNITY.

We are located in North Chicago, Illinois, near the Captain James A. Lovell Federal Healthcare Center and Naval Station Great Lakes. We are proud of our Drop-In Center and Career Closet where Veterans and active-duty military come for basic computer training, job search assistance and sometimes placement, professional wear for job searches and interviews, a cup of coffee and snacks when available, lots of conversation and very much needed camaraderie.
We receive generous donations of
new and nearly new weather appropriate clothing, housewares, and furniture, however, we are in need of monetary contributions to keep our doors open

Would you please make a contribution to this organization for this much-needed service to our military and Veterans? No amount is too small.
Visit us anytime - no appointment necessary.

We would also like to know if you are aware of any military personnel in need, or home-bound Veterans which we can serve. Click this link to send a confidential email.
